In 2008, November 14th was declared William Francis Boyd Sr. Day to honor his 75 years of service to our community. During his life, William Sr. was a dedicated and beloved father, husband, and public figure. He loved to give back to those around him and led a life of service to others.

William Sr. served as the chairman of the first NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner, Vice President of the Cleveland School Board, and was a member of several other local organizations throughout his lifetime. We are proud of his legacy and all he did for others around him.

Oldest African American
Business & Funeral Home in Greater Cleveland

Thank you Stephanie C. and Ideastream Public Media for the interview on the COVID-19 Pandemic.

I am thrilled to announce that E.F. Boyd & Son Funeral Home has been selected as an honoree for the Smart Business Cleveland - Family Business Achievement & Business Longevity Awards for the second time! We were honored in 2017 and now 2020! In my Bill Boyd voice “What a blessing and a privilege it is to serve others and be recognized for it!” Alexandria Johnson Boone of GAP Productions nominated E. F. Boyd & Son, Inc. for this prestigious award! And we are grateful for her confidence in EFB&S! The judges were impressed with our nomination and our company’s story of success. Our company will be recognized with the other honorees at The Family Business Achievement & Business Longevity Conference on September 23rd and featured in a special editorial report in the September edition of Smart Business Cleveland.

The Family Business Achievement Awards will recognize family and closely-held businesses that best demonstrate innovative business practices designed to enhance the business dynamic, and the Business Longevity Awards will recognize non-family organizations who have reached 50 years in business.

Vice President & Chief of Community Engagement
