Zachery Eldemire Obituary

Zachery Tefari Eldemire was born on October 17, 1993 to Gauntlett S. Eldemire, Jr. and Marlene Antoinette Eldemire. Zachery graduated from University School in 2012 and went on to attend High Point University in High Point, North Carolina. He then transferred to Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering alongside his best friend, who was like a brother to him since the age of 7, Kendall Pleasant.

Being the youngest in the family, Zachery was truly the “baby” who was deeply adored by his two older siblings, Antoinette (“CJ”) and Gauntlett, III (“Nikki”).  Affectionately nicknamed “Zacko Taco” by his family, Zachery had a strong passion and talent for computer programming. Exceptionally skilled with technology, Zachery was the go-to contact for his family, friends, and coworkers to correct any computer problems. Zachery was a natural in his craft. During his spare time, he would build computers from scratch, read books, watch documentaries and anime, and play Pokémon, video games and soccer.

Earning the reputation as the smartest in the family, Zachery was always learning and pushing to become the best version of himself. He was intentional in establishing a plan for his life. His mother was his rock and the woman that he was most proud of - he would open up to her and spend countless hours in person and on the phone discussing life and enjoying one another’s company. Like his Papa, Zachery loved cars, especially the Tesla, which was the perfect computer car for him. They enjoyed going to auto shows together, especially the one in Chicago. Knowing his father to be an enthusiast for riding bikes, Zach himself invested in a nice bike so that he, too, could ride.

His sister, who he had nicknamed “Creat” (short for “God’s Creature”), had so much pride for her little bro as she watched him buy his first house, accept a “dope” job offer with Boeing in St. Louis, and purchase the car she always wanted, at only 25 years of age. The family believed that Zach always wanted to be like his older sister since he would mirror a lot of things she would do.  Unbeknownst to Zach, his success had actually been inspiring his sister to push herself harder. His brother Nikki, shared a very motivational relationship with Zachery which was centered on building a strong foundation for his future. Nikki unfalteringly believed in Zachery and his potential to grow and lead a beautiful, successful life. Any problems that Zachery expressed or assistance he may have needed, Nikki made sacrifices to take care of his little brother with no questions asked.  Zachery knew that he would always have the faith and support of his family. He often shared stories with friends about his family always coming through for him whenever he needed it -- Always.

Zachery’s name in Hebrew means “God Remembers”. In the Bible, when it is said that God “remembers” someone, it means He turns His attention to that person and acts upon their behalf. Zachery lived up to his name.  He would often turn his attention to others and act on their behalf. His thoughtfulness and kind heart will always be remembered. Like an angel, Zachery would come through for people, perform his act of kindness, and quietly go and leave you feeling so much better because he was there.

Zachery went to be with the Lord on February 2, 2020. Zachery leaves to cherish his memory: his parents, Gauntlett and Marlene, his siblings, Gauntlett III and Antoinette, his beloved dog, Bexley, and a host of relatives and friends.
