ViDella (Powell) Vinson was born on October 17, 1937 to Anna (Carswell) Powell and Wille D. Powell, in Cleveland, Ohio, where she attended elementary school and Glenville High School before heading to college at Kent State University.
Soon after graduating from Kent State University in 1960 with a Bachelors of Arts in Social Work, she married her best friend Ronald Vinson. To their union, two beautiful daughters were born; Serena and Lenora.
She was employed by the Cuyahoga County Health and Human Services Department and spent her entire professional career as a social services provider; including many years of service as a Social Services Supervisor. Upon her initial retirement, she still had a desire to help and serve others, so she joined the support staff team within the Cleveland Metropolitan School District for a few years before deciding to retire a second and final time to truly enjoy retirement life.
Anyone close to ViDella, knew she was a talented bowler, enjoyed playing casino slots and was an avid Bridge Club participant. Oftentimes, she skillfully participated in competitive bowling and Bridge tournaments.
ViDella accepted Christ at an early age and was a woman of boundless faith, fortitude, and courage. She dearly loved her family and would always make herself available to support them. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, both daughters and her brother, Dempsey Powell. She leaves to cherish her fond memories; stepsister Robin Aaron, stepbrother Herbert Aaron, two grandsons: Alaric Wayne Sawyer II and Royce Cameron Sawyer, son-in-law Alaric Sawyer (Lenora), and many loving family and friends.
