Theodosia Hill

Theodosia Hill was born August 29, 1933 in Palatka, FL, third of four children to Sam and Priscilla Hickson (both deceased). She moved to Daytona Beach, FL at an early age. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Daytona Beach FL.
She attended Campbell High School where she met her childhood sweetheart, Charlie Hill Jr. (deceased) and into this union 4 children were born. They relocated to Cleveland, OH where she joined Bethany Baptist Church.
Theodosia returned to Daytona Beach, FL and became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Upon returning to Cleveland, OH, she joined Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and became a member of the Prayer Warriors and The LaVeda Circle as a faithful and dedicated servant until her health began to fail.
Theodosia graduated from Jane Adams School of Nursing, in Cleveland, OH and worked at Cleveland Clinic Foundation 18 years. She studied at Daytona Community College, FL, UCLA in Bellflower, CA. and worked at Janet Greeson "A Place for Us" Medical Center in Bellflower. CA for 6 years.
She was a member of Knights of Pythias Gardenia Court #42. She also served as District Deputy of Imperial Empress and Captain of Bethune Cookman Military Department and was a member of Mollie DE 'Braun, Daughter of Elks.
Theodosia loved to travel. She visited more than 30 states and countries, including Canada, Mexico.
Theodosia was preceded in death by brothers, Samuel Jr. and Lawrence Hickson (both deceased). She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted sister, Christine Hickson; Her loving children, Daughters - Doretha Hill and Katrina Hill; Sons - Charlie Hill Jr. (Valerie Hill) and Lee Hill; and precious God-Daughter - Theodosia Johnson; 14 Grandchildren (2 deceased), 22 Great-Grandchildren and 5 ½ Great-Great-Grandchildren, as well as a host of relatives, extended family and friends.


Mother's Prayer
As I open my heart, my mind to thee, O God, with the joyfulness of the new experiences that may be mine, wilt thou be my guide.
May I make my will, my mind, my soul, daily in accordance with that service that thou wouldst have me render too my fellow man.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be more and more acceptable unto thee, my Lord and redeemer, for thou may live in me as thou hast promised.
That the glory of the Father may be manifested in those that love his ways. Help thou mine unbelief. Make thou mind and heart clean. Renewing a righteous spirit within me, thou hast promised to be near. Theodosia Hill
