Terri Jackson Obituary

Terri Lin Jackson was born to the union of Clarence (Bob) Rice Jr. and Jean Hawkins-Luster on May 16th, 1957, in Cleveland, Ohio, at Mt. Sinai Hospital. She attended school at Gracemount Elementary, Baptist Christian Upper School, John Carroll University, and even returned to school receiving her Paralegal degree in 2014 at Ursuline College.

She started her work career at her uncle Earle Brown's American Arbitration Association office. Later, she began working at the Cuyahoga County Engineer's Office in 1982 as a draftsman.  She was a dedicated, hard-working employee who was committed to excellence. Terri eventually took on the responsibility of County Mapping Supervisor, maintaining the County tax maps, until she retired in 2010.  She worked for a title company for a short time before rejoining the County in 2016 as a CAD technician. Terri was a very dedicated employee and took enormous pride in her work. Her knowledge, expertise, and kindness to her fellow employees will be greatly missed.

Terri was known for her cheerful attitude, love of Indian food, and passion for learning. She continuously studied different languages and religions, learned to play several musical instruments, and researched the care and protection of animals. Her inquisitive mind was never satisfied with surface knowledge once an area caught her interest. Her style was to go all-in with a quiet passion, focus, and commitment. She studied French, Spanish, German, Russian, Arabic, & Mandarin. She played the violin, cello, guitar and was learning to play native flutes. Her household was never animal free. Name a pet and there is a good chance she had one. Over the years, she practically had a zoo!

Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family. Whether through family vacations, weekend trips to the trailer, or celebrating birthdays and holidays together. She was an extremely caring mother who always wanted the best for her children. She spent the last eleven years of her life happy with her enduring partner, Jerry Leibson. They enjoyed dining at new restaurants, watching films, and traveling. He attended to her every need and made sure her final wishes were fulfilled.

Terri was preceded in death by her father Clarence (Bob) Rice Jr and step-father Thomas O. Luster. Terri is survived by mother Jean Luster; children Stephanie Crowell, by the union of Arthur Crowell, Ashley Jackson and Tyler Jackson, by the union of George Jackson Jr; and step-daughter Brittany Lewis; sister Tamara Rice; nephew Robert Rice, aunt Beverly Banks; and a host of cousins and loving friends. She departed this life on May 2nd, 2021 at 10:04pm.
