Terrence Brown Obituary

Born on August 1, 1968, Terrence Patterson Brown “Terry” was the first of three sons born to the Easter Brown and the late Saundra (nee Webster). Terrence had a strong faith in Christ and stood firm in the word of God.

Terry was a proud member of John Marshall High School’s class of 1986. Upon graduation, Terry enlisted in the Army National Guard to pay for his education at the University of Akron.  In 1991, Terry united with Victory Williams, from this union Dominic Emanuel and Chanae Dor’Saundra were born. After serving in the military, Terry joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 38 as a Journeyman. While working with the Local 38, one of his biggest projects was the Cleveland Brown’s Stadium. Terry’s skills made him the go to electrician for family and friends throughout Cleveland. For the last six years, he was employed with Cleveland Public Power.

On Christmas Day 1996, Terry met the love of his life and best friend Carmen Burley. Terry and Carmen married and were blessed with a son, Chayce Patterson. Terry was an avid sports fan. One of his greatest joys was attending Chayce’s games and coaching him on the sideline. He was more than a Dad, he was a coach and cheerleader. Terry and Carmen enjoyed 20 years of enduring love until God called him home.

Terry had a laid-back personality. One of his famous quotes was “No Panties in a Bunch.” Terry was a true people person. When he was around family and friends, he was in his element with a bright smile. When the music started, he was known for his moves on the dance floor. There was nothing like watching Terry and Carmen hand dance. Terry was a loyal friend and the bond he had with his Harvard family was beyond measure. He will surely be missed by his “Boots” Brothers of  University of Akron and the Poker Night Crew.  Terry, also known as “T. Brown” or “Big Brown”, was always the “last one to leave” when he was having fun.

Terrence leaves a legacy of memories to his wife, Carmen; his children, Dominic, Chanae King (Jason) and Chayce; father Easter Brown; brothers, Reginald (Barbara) and Virgil (Kenyada); sister-in-love, Gina Burley Durham; mother-in-love Sherrill Burley; 7 nephews; 2 nieces; 1 great-nephew; 2 great-nieces; his extended “Harvard” family; and a host of relatives and friends.
