Sherrie King Obituary

Sherrie Lucille King was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 8, 1955 to the late Ivy and Margaret Caldwell. She was the fourth of six children. She and her siblings were raised on 103rd & Cedar by two loving parents.

In 1983 she married Jasper Davis and to this union one child was born, son, Jasper Jerome Davis. Their union was formed at Shiloh Baptist Church under the Pastor Rev. Wallace. Years later she remarried Robert J. King at Calvary Hill Missionary Baptist Church which was her church home where she praised the Lord her whole life. Her love for God carried over into her home where she sang gospel songs daily as she did in the church choir. Praising the Lord by song was one of her favorite forms of worship.

Sherrie was known for being funny, outgoing, and smart. There was never a dull moment with her quick wit and sense of humor. She was very educated and pledged AKA. She had attended Ohio State University and later graduated from Dyke College. She later pursued a career as a prominent secretary for CMHA. Then she became a teacher for CMSD and Warrensville Heights. There she taught and impacted children of ages from K-12. It is in these fields where thrives influencing many lives with her drive, intelligence, and charisma.

Sherrie L. King was a loving and caring mother, daughter, auntie, cousin, and friend. She lived in her truth and no matter how grim it was she always managed to smile and be strong.

She was preceded in death by Ivy Caldwell (father), Margaret Caldwell (mother), Margaret Ann Watson (sister), Lucille Young (Aunt), Christine Saford (Aunt), and Desabe Meadows (uncle).

Sherrie leaves to cherish her memory, one and only son and care giver, Jasper Jerome Davis; Jasper Davis (first husband); Henrie Ellen Lawson (sister); Ira Caldwell (brother); Robert Caldwell (Frances); Clifford Caldwell (Tammela); grandchild Tyliyah Davis; nieces: Crystal Yvette Lawason, Kimberly Bradly, Tammara Willis (Calvin), Tammyka Caldwell-Asberry (Rodney), Cecily, Margo, and Marlena Caldwell; nephews: Sir Jhames Louis Lawson, Ramone, Rashad, Jamel, and Amir Caldwell, Justin B. Lawson; cousins, Freddy, Ruben, and her Favorite Runea Crawford, Denita, Billy, and Anthony Crawford; and dear friend/ daughter Arnetta Lewis; and a host of nephews, nieces, and dear friends.
