Obituary Roy Oliver Robinson was born September 13, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio to Roy Raymond Robinson and Priscilla Theodora (Oliver), and was the older of two children. As a child he attended Cleveland Public Schools graduating from East Technical High School in 1960. He then attended Howard University where he majored in Architecture, continuing his studies at Kent State University. As a child he showed promise in leadership being in the Boy Scouts and later in the Army ROTC at Howard University. He continued support of social and community groups by forming the “Glenville Safe Zone” curfew and mentoring program. He was awarded a Key to the City for his efforts. Roy was active in his AA recovery group “Friends of Glenville” celebrating 36 years of recovery. He started his professional career as a draftsman working for Madison & Madison, the first African American Architecture firm in Cleveland. He retired as a draftsman from British Petroleum (BP) and went on to do private contract work as ROR Design Company. Roy leaves to mourn his passing a sister Carol Chism, of Portland, Oregon. His cousin Gordan Oliver, his lifelong friend Walter Napier, step-son Balcome Fantroy, Ex-Wife, Jacqueline Fantroy, and a host of relatives and friends. The Family
