Ronald LeVann Hood was born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Samuel and Bernice Hood on September 22nd, 1956. He accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age and was baptized at Beulah Baptist Church. He exceled scholastically, attended Shaw High School, and graduated with the class of 1975. After a five-year courtship, Ron joined Evelyn M. Hood in holy matrimony on July 14th, 1979. They were married for forty-one years. One child, Char’Kita Hood, was born from their union. He was a proud employee of Ford Motor Company Brook Park Engine Plant and a member of U.A.W Local No. 1250 until retiring after 32 years. Ronald had a take it easy attitude and always gave words of encouragement and advice to others, especially his daughter. Known affectionately as Ronnie, he enjoyed sports, watching westerns on tv, fishing, trying his luck at the casino, and spending time with his family and friends.
Ron departed this life unexpectedly on Saturday, October 31st, 2020 at the age of 64. His parents, Samuel & Bernice Hood, and older brother, Larry Hudson, proceeded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife, Evelyn Hood; loving daughter, Char’Kita Hood; brother, Samuel Hood (Sheila); aunts Cherrie Perkins, Mary Pearson (Illinois); uncle Lewis Pearson (Tennessee); brothers-in-law, Leon Wilson, Stanford Wilson, Nathaniel Wilson, and Joseph Wilson (deceased); sisters-in-law, Olga Powell, Karman Aaron, and Donna-Jean McCloud (deceased); as well as many close cousins, nieces, nephews, and life-long friends. Ronnie will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
