Obituary

Affectionately known as “Jay”, “R J”, “Bob”, and “Uncle Robert”, Robert Barham was born May 12, 1927 in (Henderson, Tennessee). 

Robert joined the US Army and honorably served for 30 years. At the rank of Sargent First Class, Robert retired from the military with notable honors.

Robert‘s second career was at the United States Postal Service where he worked as a mail carrier until his civilian retirement. 

Robert faithfully served many years as a member of Olivet Institutional Baptist Church and as a member of the church’s senior usher board.  He was an avid amateur photographer and perfected his skills as a long-time member of the Karamu Camera Guild.

Leaving to morn him are his two eldest sisters Irma (Trice) and Vera (Kelley) and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Previously deceased siblings are Maxine (Hart); Mildred (Hart); Clyde; Boyd; Oleatha (Breeding); and Rex.
