Riephine Foote

Obituary

Riephine Foote was born on February 24, 1932 in Tuskegee, Alabama to the late Governor & Annie Leola Martin. Riephine was one of four children.

Riephine attended and graduated from the Alabama Public School System in 1952. She moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1954 where shortly after she met and married Charles W. Foote Sr. on December 24, 1955. Their union was blessed with five children: Charles Jr. (deceased), Mary Alice (deceased), Barbara, Terry, and Larry. She also raised her granddaughter LaShunda.

Riephine went by the nickname “Doll”.

After retiring from the Cleveland Board of Education, she treasured and helped raise grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

“Doll” was a three time cancer survivor. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family, and going to the Casinos. No matter who came by she was always prepared to feed them a plate of food.

“Doll” was called home on October 24, 2020. “Doll” accepted Christ as her personal savior when she was very young.

“Doll” leaves behind to cherish her memory her four surviving children: Barbara (Dale) Johnson, Terry (Freda) Foote, Larry Foote, LaShunda (Keith Sr.) Miller; six grandchildren: Charles III, Terrence, Latrice, David, Broderick, Latasha; thirteen great-grandchildren; surviving sister, Emma Joyce. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly.

She now rejoins her husband Charles Sr.; son Charles Jr. and daughter Mary Alice; two sisters, Rosetta Rowell and Indiana Rowell. Mommy, you will surely be missed.
