The Life and Legacy of Reginald Allen Barker

Reginald Allen Barker was born on April 12, 1973 in Cleveland, Ohio to the parentage of Victoria Barker-Ponder and Reginald Ponder.


"When I was a child, I spake as a child . . ." I Cor. 13:11
Reggie received his formal education from Cleveland Public School System in Cleveland, Ohio.


". . . but when I became a man, I put away childish things." I Cor. 13:11
Reggie took great joy in telling everyone who would listen about his six remarkable Children and his G-Babies who he cherished wholeheartedly. He accepted Christ and was baptized at Lake Highlands United Methodist Church under the leadership of Pastor Pamela Clark in Dallas, Texas. His exceptional sales skills and unwavering dedication made him an exemplary salesman. Over the course of his life, he had the privilege of mentoring and inspiring countless individuals. With his vibrant energy, Reggie brightened every room he entered, leaving a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.

Reggie entered into his eternal resting place on January 20, 2024.  He was preceded in death by his mother ~ Victoria Ponder, father ~ Reginald Ponder, maternal grandparents ~ Leila Mae Barker and Alexander (Buddy) Weems, paternal grandparents ~ Louise and Albert Ponder, and seven paternal aunts and uncles.


"I will not leave you comfortless . . ." John 14:18
Reggie, although gone from our sight, he will remain in the hearts of: his wife ~ Shaun Gaston-Barker; six children ~ Nautica Rogers, Terion Porter, Taquilla Porter all of Cleveland, Ohio, and Da'Shon Bright, Reginald Barker Jr, Victoria Barker all of Dallas, Texas; ten grandchildren ~ Naima Rogers, Tanaia Porter, Tatiana Porter, Trinity Gay, Tavion Porter, Sahana Talise Bright, Della Rollie, Desirae Rollie, Vonnah Porter, and Isaac Jones Jr.; brothers ~ Quincy Barker and Alexander Kennedy; maternal aunt ~ Angela Caldwell; paternal Aunt ~ Sue Ponder; cousin/sister ~ Chelief Caldwell, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
