Queola L. Williams was born on July 26,1927 in Cherry Valley,Arkansas. She was the youngest of ten children. She grew up in Cherry valley,Arkansas and accepted Christ at an early age.
Queola moved to Cleveland,Ohio in September of 1943 to assist with the care of her new nephew, Dolphis Sloan. Queola attended Cleveland Public schools and graduated from Central High School. After her graduation she began her pursuit of becoming a Nurse and completed her studies at Jane Adams School of Nursing. Shorty after her high school graduation, she met and married Willie Williams Sr. in 1949. They later became the proud parents of three children; Erma, Dortha and Willie Jr. During this time they maintained a prosperous life.For 20 years they owned and operated their own business. Queola and Willie Sr. shared a strong marital bond and to this day they are looked at as a model couple. They were married for almost 57 years until the passing of Willie Sr. in 2006. Queola worked many years in her dream job as a Nurse. She loved being a Nurse and worked in the Coronary Care Unit of St. Vincent Charity Hospital until her retirement in 1993.
Queola was a charter member of the Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of her brother in law, Reverend C.N Sloan. She was a very dedicated lifelong member of the church and participated in many activities, including singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School.
Queola leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters; Dortha and Erma Williams; one son, Willie R. Williams Jr.( Audrey); four grand children; Emmanuel Isaiah and Daniel Judah Smith, Auriel and Justin Williams, and two great grand children; Hunter and Samson Smith.
Queola Williams lived a long and inspirational life. She always had a kind word to say to anyone she ever encountered. She will be dearly missed but we will see her again.
