Peggy Joyce Little was born July 20th, 1941 to Eugene and Sam Ella Roach in Praco, Alabama. She departed this life on Saturday evening September 19th, 2020. After her father’s death, her mother was remarried to Clinton Felton who became her adopted father. The family relocated to Cleveland, Ohio. Peggy graduated from St. Peters High School. Soon after she and William E. Little Jr. married and started a family. The marriage later dissolved.
Education was very important to Peggy. While working at Cleveland State University she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Services. She went on to work at Miles College in Eutaw, Alabama where she held many positions. She later moved back to Cleveland, Ohio. While working at Case Western Reserve University she earned a Master’s degree in Social Service Administration. She later went on to work for Cuyahoga County Department of Children and Family Services until retiring in 2006.
Peggy will forever be remembered for her great passion for cooking. She also enjoyed traveling, bowling, shopping, and reading. She liked to sew outfits for herself and her children when they were younger. Peggy, who was very family oriented, never missed an opportunity to spend quality time with her beloved family. Peggy was also a foster mother to several children. (Charmaine Hunter remains close to the family). Peggy later moved to Huntsville, Alabama to enjoy the remaining years of her retirement.
She was proceeded in death by her Father (Eugene), adopted Father (Clinton), Mother (Sam Ella) and grandson (Hezekiah IV). Peggy leaves to cherish her memory . . . Five children: William E. Little III, Theresa Smith (David), Tina Little, Angela Manning, Eugene Little (Lisa). Five grandchildren: Aaron Smith, Quinton Smith, Gabrielle Lee (Christopher), Tiffany Smith, and Chelsea Little. Two great-grandchildren: Aurora Harrington and Zyhir Lee. Two step children: Carmen Berry (Jeremiah), Danielle England (Bevin), along with a host of extended family and friends whom she loved with all of her heart.
