Ola Mae Owsley

Ola Mae Owsley, affectionately called Grandma, 89, passed away December 30th at 8:10 AM in Cleveland, OH.  Ola was born in Louisville, KY on July 5, 1931.  

Ola worked as a salesclerk for Bob Henfield Wholesale for 10 years. In 1968 she went to Frieder Inc. Wholesale,  where she worked until she retired in 1996 after 28 years of service.  Ola was an active member of University Church of Christ, where she served on various ministries, including the church food pantry.

Ola leaves to cherish her memory her sister Wilhelmina Moore, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

Ola is preceded in death by her parents Albert Gilchrist Jr. and Luetishia Gilchrist (Ledford) White; stepfather Lud Lee White; two brothers Stanley Gilchrist and Wayne L. White; sister Gloria Larson; and her children Anna Maria Barnes, Stephen Owsley, and Eric Eugene Owsley.

Funeral services will be at 11AM ET on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at University Church of Christ, 1885 E. 89th Street Cleveland, OH  44106. The wake will precede funeral services at 10:00 am. Viewing will be Friday, January 15th from 12 noon to 4:00 pm at Boyd Funeral Home, 2165 E. 89th Street Cleveland, OH 44106. 

Because COVID-19 guidelines,  in person attendance has been limited to 60. For those planning to attend in person,  we strongly encourage testing for COVID-19 3-5 days prior to the service. Social distancing and masks will be enforced. Thank you for honoring our family’s wishes and our grandmother’s memory.
