Life began for Louise “Ruby” Jones on June 7, 1939 in Roba, Alabama. She was the second child born to the union of the late Samuel and Leola Brown. Her sister Dorothy Brown Proceeded her in death. She was an outgoing child with lots of friends.
The family moved to Cleveland, OH in 1942, there Louise attended the Cleveland Public School System graduating from John Hay HS in 1957. She was President of her senior class, and very athletic. She was an avid bowler winning many trophies and proficient at playing cards especially bid whist.
She worked at the county auditors office as a bookkeeper. She then went to General Electric and Mr. Coffee, eventually working for the City of Cleveland as a school crossing guard for over 25 years until she retired.
Louise professed Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Paul A.M.E. Zion Church. She later joined Providence Baptist Church and recommitted her life to Christ where she became active as an usher, Vacation bible school volunteer, bible student, and joined the church bowling league. She especially enjoyed playing bridge, going out to lunch with friends and exercise with the silver sneakers.
She married Alonzo Jones in 1967 and from this union one child was born. She leaves to mourn her daughter Tracy Jones, two grandchildren Charles Jones and Alyssa Adams, and one great grand child MaKayla Louise Jones. One sister Ernestine Cole. One niece, Pamela Thorpe, one nephew Gerald Cole Jr., three great nieces Bianca Smith (Trevonn), Chante Thorpe, and Zaria Cole, two great nephews Gerald Cole III and Dmitri Thorpe, aunt Katie Rose Chappell, numerous cousins, and a host of friends.
