Joyce Ann Wingard-Chambers was born on February 25, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio to Alvin and Gussie Lee who both preceded her in death. Although she was an only child to this union, she had 3 cousins that were like her sisters, Carol, Vonnie and Lois.
Joyce grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and attended East Technical High School. Shortly after high school, Joyce married Robert Wingard and to this union four children were born.
Joyce became a member of The Cleveland Church of Christ in 1970 under the leadership of the late Bishop James R. Haughton, Sr., where she served as an Usher. She was employed as a supervisor for Waxman Industries for over 40 years. Joyce, affectionately known as “Jazzy” loved bowling, dancing, traveling, and having frequent family gatherings where she cooked delicious homemade meals for her family.
Later in life, she met and married Melvin Chambers and they remained married 26 years, until his death in 2019.
She took great pride in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. It was very important to her to be a part of their many accomplishments such as, high school, college, and Military graduations, as well as seeing them play in their designated sports.
She leaves to mourn her children Denise (Floyd), Robin (Darryl), Robert and Dawn. Grandchildren Alana, Kevin, Ashley, Angela (Hamilton), De Vaughn, Amber, Nyla, Nathan. Two stepchildren, Terry (Deb), Janice. Great grandchildren Jazmine, Michael, and Teagan. Sisters in Christ, Carol Moore, Slyvia Cook and Ramona Brown.
