Jocka (Spanky) was born to Brenda Brown and David Washington in Monroe, Louisiana, on July 24, 1973.
He confessed his life to Christ and was baptized at Altadena Community Church in Altadena, California.
His family relocated to Cleveland, Ohio where he graduated from Aviation High School class of 1992.
Jocka met and married his lifelong partner Nichelle Howard-Brown and from this union came Osheana, Jocka Jr. and Nieko.
Jocka was well-known for his love for his family and friends. He was very family-oriented and centered his life around his children, grandson, and friends.
He was a beautiful person with a wonderful personality. He was a loving, strong-willed, kind-hearted, outgoing, and a very devoted father and grandfather.
Jocka will be remembered as a fun-loving, charismatic, dedicated soul and peace maker. He loved people and people loved him. He loved to laugh, dance, tell jokes and travel.
Jocka will forever be in our hearts. We celebrate his life as he lived it to the fullest.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Loving wife, Nichelle Howard-Brown, three children, Osheana Brown, Jocka Brown Jr., and Nieko Brown, “one grandson Kyeem Jackson”. Mother, Brenda Brown, father, David Washington, three brothers, Corey (Monique) Washington, Rico Washington, Sam McDowell III. Two uncles, three aunts, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
