Obituary
James “Tab” Tolbert, Jr. was born November 28th, 1937 to James, Sr. and Carol C. Tolbert (both deceased) in Birmingham, Alabama.
The family moved to Cleveland, Ohio during his elementary school years. He graduated from Glenville High School.
James started his job career as a baker at Tip Top Bakery. After their closing he was with General Electric, and then Ohio Bell Telephone Company. He was later with Capitol Records working in their facility in the state of Pennsylvania until the company relocated to California. James returned to Cleveland and worked at Ford Motor Company until retirement.
He was married to the late Dorothy Stuart. Three children were born to this union, son, Reginald, and daughters, LaWanda and Veronica.
James transitioned on August 16, 2023. Leaving to cherish his memory son, Reginald of Virginia, daughters, LaWanda and Veronica of Ohio, granddaughter Anigea Knight, sister, Delores James, sister-in-law Bonnie Tolbert, nieces Terri Golden (Guy), and DeLana Williams, great niece Serena Wyatte, and great nephew Benny Williams, Jr. and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
