Isaac Triplett Sr. Obituary

Isaac Triplett Sr., who departed from this world on March 27th, 2024, leaves a profound void in our lives, yet his memory will forever illuminate our hearts with warmth and love. Isaac was a man of remarkable character, whose life exemplified unwavering integrity, compassion, and resilience.

Isaac “Papa” Triplett Sr. was born December 5th, 1940, in Louisville, Mississippi, to the late Len and Elvena Triplett. He was the sixth of sixteen children. Isaac embarked on a journey here in Cleveland, Ohio, where he lived most of his entire life. Isaac attended East Tech High School, where he was a force to be reckoned with on the basketball court. After his high school years, Isaac worked several jobs enjoying what he did, but it was at Chrysler Corporation in Twinsburg, Ohio, where his true work ethic made a lasting mark. After 33 years, Isaac retired on April 30th, 2000, as an Inspector. On August 9th, 1978, he married the beautiful, devoted, and love of his life, Minnie Triplett and throughout all 45 years, his wife dedicated her endless love to not only her husband, but to all his children and the entire Triplett family.

Throughout Isaacs life, he was apart of organizations and leagues that allowed him to touch the lives of countless individuals with his kindness, wisdom, and generosity. Isaac was a member of The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge No. 120 of Free and Accepted Masons for the state of Ohio, The Bezaleel Consistory No. 15, Valley of Cleveland, Orient of Ohio, The Prince Hall Shrinedom (A.E.A.O.N.M.S), Prince Hall Order Of The Eastern Star of Ohio and Jurisdiction. He was also a member of Bowling and Pool Leagues here in Cleveland. Isaac was a true embodiment of strength and perseverance, facing life's challenges with grace and determination, inspiring all who knew him to embrace each day with courage and resilience, especially his children, who he adored and loved immensely. Isaac would not be who he was if it were not for his love, obedience, and dedication to our Lord and Savor Christ Jesus. Isaac joined Second Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in 1998 and was Baptized under the leadership of Pastor Charlie D. Gant. There he served as an Usher as well as a Chaplain on the Usher Board.

Papa was the epitome of a family man. In his younger days, he enjoyed spending time hunting with his brothers. He attended any and everything he could make it to with his grandchildren, such as graduations, sporting events, weddings, casino trips, and karaoke nights. He loved being outdoors at home where he played his music in the garage while grilling. Papa planted his flowers, and grew his hot peppers and tomatoes, all in his lovely home garden. He made significant use of his alone time while putting together puzzles, then passing them out to loved ones. Papa loved to sing and dance at family functions, thinking he was a Temptation or James Brown. The grandkids and great grandkids loved Papa’s Handshake, Bookas Ride, and learning the Triplett Handshake. He enjoyed discounted shopping during Christmas time and adding to his Beautiful Christmas House display (which would have won first place if he had ever entered in a contest). Holidays were everything to Papa. He recorded Christmas about every year to create cherished memories that will be treasured for generations to come. His legacy of resilience and fortitude will continue to guide and inspire us all through life's journey.
