Hilary Sheldon Taylor, Jr. died peacefully at the Hospice of the Western Reserve on Friday, November 6, 2020 at the age of 76. His cause of death was due to complications from Alzheimer's disease. Hilary Taylor, a retired attorney with Weston Hurd law firm, and proud decorated Vietnam Veteran, was born to his late parents, Sally Wilkins Taylor and Hilary Oliver Taylor, November 6, 1944. He is remembered fondly as a God-loving husband, father, uncle, Godfather and loyal friend, as well as a Bedford Bearcat, Centralian, Alpha Man, avid golfer, resident photographer and karaoke king. He was a graduate of Bedford High School, Central State University and Cleveland Marshall School of Law. Taylor, a former adjunct law professor at Case Western Reserve University, served as chair of OACTA's (Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys) Diversity Committee and was a member of the OACTA Board of Trustees. He was a recipient of the OACTA Frank Seth Hurd Member of the Year Award in 2014. The OACTA Inclusion and Equity Scholarship was re-named the OACTA Hilary S. Taylor Inclusion and Equity Scholarship. He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Catherine (Pepper) Taylor, sons, Hilary Sterling Taylor and Jeremy Fears Taylor, sisters, Joyce Latham (David) of SC, Corlis Crabtree (Dick) of CO, brother Anthony Taylor of CA, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. A private graveside service will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Hilary S.
