Gregory L. Thomas

Gregory Lee Andrew Thomas, a beloved member of the Washington, DC and Cleveland community, passed away on March 3, 2023 at the age of 75. He was born on March 26, 1947 in Wellsville, Ohio, to his parents William Henry Thomas and Margaret Lucille Graves Thomas. Gregory was the fifth of nine children in his birth family.

Gregory served in the armed forces and was stationed in Germany before settling in Washington, DC, where he lived and worked as an attorney. He received his education from Wellsville High School, the University of Cincinnati, class of 1970, Baldwin-Wallace College, class of 1976, and Antioch School of Law in Washington, DC where he earned his Law Degree.

Gregory was married to Jetta Lucretsia Crump Thomas, and together they had one child named Morgan Sidney. He was a devoted brother, husband and father who loved spending time with his family.

He was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Washington DC, where he was an active member of the congregation. He was also a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, where he made many lifelong friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Morgan Thomas, and his siblings Barbara Smith, Carlos Thomas, Debra Wilson, Terri Thomas, Douglas Thomas, and Theresa Caldwell. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and colleagues, but his legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched during his lifetime.
