Gregory Cornell Harrington

Gregory Cornell Harrington was born in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Thomas H. and Verna E. Harrington on April 24, 1954.  From this union Gregory was the third child of four children.  Gregory accepted Christ at an early age. He attended John Adams High School in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduating he went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and a Master’s degree in Eco-systems Management at Antioch College. He also attended Howard University. Gregory joined the Peace Corps in 1979, which provided opportunities for extensive travel throughout Southern, and Eastern Africa, Europe and the Caribbean. He lived in Lesotho, South Africa where he worked as a Foreign Recruiter, educated students in nutritional science, and organized cross culture training.  Gregory returned to the United States to reside in Berkeley, California. He attended and was a member of the choir at Greater St. Paul Church in Oakland.  He worked at the University of California at Berkeley as an Eco-system manager for 30 years. He coached softball for his Peace Corps Alumni. Gregory enjoyed landscaping and agriculture. He was an avid golfer. Gregory spent most of his spare time on the golf course.                                                                                                                                                                                                                             

Gregory leaves to cherish his memory his two brothers and one sister, Thomas V. Harrington Jr. (Charetta), Patricia Barrett (Ronald deceased), Anthony Harrington (Linda), Nine nieces and nephews, a host of cousins, friends and Shannon Whiley who became his companion for the past few years.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
