Florence Graves Foster passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at the Western Reserve Hospice of Cleveland at the age of 82. She was the sixth of eight children, born in Cleveland, Ohio to John and Mary Graves.
Florence obtained an Associate Degree at Cuyahoga Community College in social science. She worked as a Nutrition Educator for 30 years at the Ohio State University Extension until she retired to care for her granddaughter Alaina Bethel.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior as a young adult. She was acknowledged for her outstanding achievement and spiritual devotion at Providence Baptist Church where she served as an usher and a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a devoted mother and proud grandmother.
In November 2013 she married James Foster who preceded her in death. The two of them would spend time listening to their favorite albums and she would often challenge him to a game of jump checkers. Spring and summer were her favorite times of the year. She looked forward to planting her flower garden and enjoyed sitting in the backyard. When she was able she traveled with her family on vacation. She enjoyed going to family dinners and was always willing to help those in need.
Her siblings Doris Daniel, Vivian Morrison, Alvin Graves, and Terreall Graves preceded her in death. Florence leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Kimberly Bethel, son in law Michael Bethel, step daughter Regina Foster, brother William Graves, sisters Jennie White, Marie Whitlow, (brother in law McArthur), nieces, nephews, and her granddaughter Alaina Bethel and a host of relatives and friends.
