Evelyn Brown Obituary

Obituary

Evelyn Louise Brown was born to Elizabeth Smith and Spencer Bass on November 20, 1931, in Vicksburg, Mississippi. She graduated from Bouman High School in 1949 and was Prom Queen. She moved to Cleveland, OH, in 1950 and attended Finn College/Cleveland State University.

She lived in Warrensville Heights, Ohio. She worked in Solon, Ohio, as a machinist at Sherman Williams. She proceeded with her husband, H. James Brown, and two sons, Elliott Harrison, Esq. and Darrell R. Harrison.

She enjoyed traveling, crocheting blankets, bowling, cooking, and puzzle books. She leaves behind her daughter, Stephanie Streeter (Gregory), and two granddaughters, Monique Streeter-Smith (David) and Dana Harrison. One grandson, Jayme Harrison. One niece, Joyce Gentry, one great nephew, Terry Gentry (Jody), and a host of family and friends.

As we, the family, most sorrowfully submit this, we will miss Evelyn's laughter and her famous one-liners, but she will always live on in our hearts, and we know that our loss will be heaven's gain.

The Plan of the Master Weaver

Our lives are but fine weavings

That God and we prepare,

Each life becomes a fabric planned

And fashioned in His care.

We may not always see just how

The weaving intertwine,

But we must trust the Master’s hand

And follow His design,

For He can view the pattern upon the upper side,

While we must look from underneath

And trust in Him to guide…

Sometimes a strand of sorrow is added to His plan,

And though it’s difficult for us,

We still must understand

That it’s He who fills the shuttle,

It’s He who knows what’s best,

So we must weave in patience

And leave to Him the rest…

Not till the loom is silent

And the shuttles cease to fly

Shall God unroll the canvas

And explain the reason why-

The darks threads are as needed

In the Weaver’s skillful hand

As the threads of gold and silver

In the pattern He has planned.

Humbly Submitted,

Your Niece
