Ellan Carole Watson, 84 of Twinsburg, Ohio, slipped quietly from this life to Glory early Friday morning, February 3, 2023, at Canterbury Senior Care Facility, Twinsburg, Ohio. Ellan was born on October 30, 1938, in Shreveport, Louisiana the youngest of two children to Joseph and Cara Mae Sanders who preceded her in death.
Ellan was a sweet giving person, always willing to give a neighbor a hand especially in the garden. She began her employment with Allstate Insurance Company back in October of 1967 and retired as an Auto Claims Adjuster in 1998.
She grew up in the church and was baptized as a member of Antioch Baptist Church. As a young woman she worked as a secretary for the church. After graduating from Glenville High School on January 25, 1957, Ellan Carole married her high school sweetheart Dalton Dale Watson on November 22, 1957. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Kara Michelle, and Nikki Deann. They lived in Cleveland, Ohio until 1972 when they moved to their forever home in Twinsburg, Ohio. Ellan made sure that anyone who entered their home felt welcomed, comfortable, and loved. Together she and Dalton hosted pool parties, card parties, birthday parties, The Chicago Connection, and others.
Ellan was interested in a great many things. She was a great seamstress, made wonderful glass cutting art, and loved to crochet. Of all her hobbies she was best known as a Master Gardener and a Mid-Eastern Dancer. “Let’s go walk the yard” is a saying many will remember Ellan by. She offered many suggestions and gave great advise on what to do with any garden issue. She began her time as a Mid-Eastern Dancer in 1979 as a student and by the time she retired in 1985 she was a respected teacher. Family and friends often accompanied her to various shows and were amazed by her grace and showmanship.
