Ella Mae Ruderson was born in Cleveland, OH October 10, 1947 to the late Willie and Evelyn Williams. Ella attended and graduated from John Adams High School in 1966.
Ella married Steve Roberts in 1966 and out of that union came Steve and Eric Roberts. On February 7, 2001 Ella married her long-time partner and friend Leon Ruderson (deceased April 2014).
Throughout her life, she worked at Jean Nicole, Sears and Burlington. Ella spent her life taking care of others. Starting in her early teens up until her passing, she was a maternal figure and caregiver to generations of family members and friends who lovingly referred to her as”Grandma/Auntie” Ella.
Ella was open to new experiences and willing to travel anywhere with Family or friends at a moment’s notice. When not filling her days with cooking her famous peach cobbler, Ella would enjoy going shopping or watching movies with her sister Brenda. Whether riding the bus to the casino or taking a day trip to Amish country with her sister and beloved niece (Gina), she had a love for life and travel that was unmatched.
Many Family and friends will mourn Ella’s warm smile and effervescent personality. She is survived by her sister Brenda Epps and two brothers Douglas and Harvey (Carolotta) Williams. She is also survived by her two sons, Steve Roberts Jr. of Tampa, FL, and Eric (Nina) Butler-Roberts of Exton Pa. Ella was the loving grandmother to Alec, Evan, and Janel; and beloved aunt to Gina Stills and Lawrence Epps. Ella was the adoring great aunt to four nieces Teresa, Jordan, Lauren and Emery, and four nephews Terry, Perry, Bryce, and Miles.
Those who knew her loved her. She was called home on July 11, 2021.
