Eardeal Hudson was born in Pickensville, Alabama to the union of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Sherrod) McClung. She was the fourth child of eleven. She departed this life on January 8, 2021.
Eardeal confessed Christ at an early age and joined B. B. Chapel C.M.E. Church in Alabama where her spiritual journey began. She was made junior usher and served dutifully until she graduated from high school. She graduated from Pickens County Training School with honors, after which she taught at McShan Elementary School in McShan, Alabama.
Eardeal met and united in holy matrimony to the late SGT John L. Hudson. She travelled over Europe with her husband while he served in the military. They made their home in Columbus, Georgia where they joined Friendship Baptist Church. Eardeal would later became a deaconess at the church. After her husband went to be with the Lord, she moved to Cleveland in November 1986. Here she joined Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church and was elected president of the deaconess where she served until 2011. For the last ten years, Eardeal resided at The Greens Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Eardeal loved all kinds of arts and crafts including sewing and ceramics. She also enjoyed gardening.
Eardeal was very easy to get along with and was loved by all. We will miss her dearly. We rejoice in the knowledge that she is gone home to be in the Presence of the Lord. She leaves to cherish her memory three sisters, Blanche Baker, R. Lee Smith and Hattie Dunn; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
