Dorcas Cornelia (Roland) Roundtree

Dorcas Cornelia Roland was born on July 4th , 1921 in Hanging Rock,Ohio to the late Charles and Ruth Roland. Dorcus was the eldest of three children born to this union. Her middle sister, Mildred Louise preceded her in death. Edna Jean Pruitt is her only living sibling.

Dorcas grew up and attended school in Dunbar, PA. After graduating high school, she worked various jobs, finally residing in Youngstown,Ohio where she worked at the Ravenna Arsenal during WWll. After the war ended, she moved to Cleveland, Ohio where she then worked at the former,Hotel Cleveland for many years before retiring. During this time she met and married Mort Roundtree and they spent 53 wonderful and happy years together. Mort Roundtree passed away in 2003.

Dorcas accepted Christ at an early age. She later continued her relationship with the Lord by joining the Olivet Institutional Baptist Church under the leadership of the late O.M. Hoover.

Dorcas was a wonderful cook and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling and reading.

Dorcas will be lovingly remembered as " Aunt Dodo" by her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives, friends, and her beloved sister, Edna.
