DOREATHA (MADISON) PETTUS

Doreatha Pettus was born in Prentiss, Mississippi on May 4, 1924 to Mary and John Madison. Doreatha enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading, gardening, upholstery and knitting. She also loved to volunteer with the Community Council, PTA and the Street Club. Doreatha was a member of Antioch Baptist Church for over seventy years, where she was the President of the May Birthday Club and member of the Veterans Bible Class. She was a beloved wife of the late Robert Sr., loving mother of Debra Groce, Saundra Gibson, Robert Jr., Karl Kwabena, Bernard and Kenneth Pettus, a cherished grandmother of thirteen and great grandmother of eleven, and a dear sister of Irene Coleman. Her memory will be cherished by all who loved her.
