Clyde A. Jefferson "Bumpy J"

Clyde Alex Jefferson better known as “Bumpy J” was born March 28, 1953, to the union of Ernest and Earnestine Jefferson in Mansfield, Ohio. He was the fourth of six children.

Clyde was raised and educated in Mansfield, Ohio where he would develop a passion for barbering- he would carry this passion into his adult life. He loved to cut hair for his family and friends, and he was always quick with a joke or witty remark to make you laugh. His sense of humor was unmatched!

Clyde loved good food! One of his favorite foods were the sandwiches that his big sister, Genevieve would prepare for him. He nicknamed them “love sandwiches”.

He was especially close to his three nephews: Leroy, Shon, and Lamont; niece, Tamiko; and his special aunt Ree.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Earnestine Jefferson; one brother, Larry Darnell Jefferson; and one nephew, Derrick Foster.

Clyde truly and dearly loved his family. Although living in the time of the end, he continued to show a zeal for Jehovah even with his struggles. Clyde is not forgotten by his family and friends who loved him unconditionally and adopted him in their hearts.

Left to cherish his memory are: his siblings-Gloria Jean Evans (James, deceased), Genevieve Rumph (Edward), Lowell Jefferson, Gennice Foster (Terry Sr.); granddaughter-Isis Pounds; nieces and nephews-Leroy Rumph, Shon Rumph (Angie), Tamiko Evans (Arthur Darby), Lamont Rumph (LaVonda), Rolisia Carter (Ronnie), Tawiah Entzminger (Jonathan), Christy Milam (Timothy), Shaquita Jefferson, and Terry Foster Jr. He will be missed by five great-grandchildren, great-nieces, great-nephews, special aunts and uncles, other relatives, and friends.
