Charles Dove Obituary

Mr. Charles Michael Dove was born on July 12, 1951, in Meridian, Mississippi to his late parents, Mary Louise McGhee and Otis Charles Dove.

At a very young age his parents moved to Cleveland, Ohio. He was educated in the Cleveland Public School System, and a graduate of John Adams High School.  Following the completion of high school, he joined the United States Army. His service for his country included a tour of duty in one of Germany’s oldest cities, Augsburg, Germany. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1974.

Charles was employed as a Head Chef at Joseph Horne Restaurant in Randall Mall and at Ground Round Restaurant. He was employed by Linderme Tube in Euclid, Ohio, and retired after 27 years of service. He belonged to the Union Local 1704.

Charles loved life! He loved to fish, travel, and listen to music, specifically the Blues. He enjoyed watching Country Westerns and gardening. One of his favorite pastimes was shopping at Walmart and enjoying the sights of others who shopped there. He was a collector of many things which included comics, coins, and shoes. He loved a great party and was an avid Cleveland sports fan, especially the Cleveland Browns. He also found joy in camping with family. He loved the Lord and attended Grace Missionary Baptist Church.

In his previous marriages he had four children. Later he met the love of his life Shelia Wilson Dove, they were married in June 2001. Their families grew with blended love.

His favorite place to travel was Put-In-Bay off the Shores of Lake Erie. The Lord comforted him with his transition of life there on September 18, 2022. Preceding his death were his parents, Mary Louise McGhee, Otis Charles Dove, and his brother, Reginald Hines.

He leaves to celebrate his memories, his loving wife Sheila Wilson-Dove, sister, Sylvia Lorraine Dove-Bradley (Chris), and brother Rodney Otis Dove (Mia). Charles has four beautiful children, two daughters, Muzzette Dove (Derrick), Sharice Dove-Polkabla (George), two sons, Charles Michael Dove Jr. (Callie), Eric Rayshon Dove Sr. A blend of love, Leboria Wilson, Seville Campbell, Mercedes Wilson. He also leaves behind twenty-seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of lovely nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
