Charles Ellis Brown II was called to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 26, 2023. Although he will be missed, we know that he is where he should be, in heaven. As we know our Lord promised, in Christ Jesus, we will see him again. Charles was a great father, grandfather, great grandfather brother, son and friend.
He loved the blues, gospel music and Whitney Houston. He was always dressed to impress ready at anytime to put on a suit, tie and shiny shoes. Charles had a love of cars. Some of his favorite cars were the 1969 hardtop and convertible VW Karman Ghia, 1975 MGB, 79 Mercury Cougar XR7. He loved to travel, always planning his next vacation. Charles enjoyed reading and would often boast about once reading all the books in the library.
Upon his transition to life eternal, he was the lead pastor of Sheffield Lake United Church of Christ. He held executive and pastoral care roles for several different organizations including Back Bay Mission, Biloxi, Mississippi, Auburn Community Church, Chesterland, Ohio and Treasurer for United black Christians, a ministry of UCC.
He recently celebrated 40 years sobriety on March 23, 2023. During his journey he shared his growth to strengthen others during their day to day struggle with addiction. This is what made Charles so special. He was inspirational and supportive to others as he touched many lives.
As Charles Ellis Brown II is embraced in the loving arms of Jesus, he would want us to rejoice in his passing.
Charles Ellis Brown II, is survived by Christopher Eric Brown, Cortney Eliot Brown and families which include, grandchildren and great grand children, in whom he loved and cherished with all of his heart.
