Sadie was the third child born to born to the late Zana and Octavius Price, on January 20, 1922, after older sister Lennora and brother Acie Ray in Camp Hill, Alabama.
Sadie married, the love of her life, Sam Girten before he entered into the Army. The couple settled in Cleveland, after his discharge, where they raised their only daughter, Pauline.
Sadie was a dedicated and hardworking chef at Diamonds Restaurant for more than 40 years before retiring 30 years ago.
A devoted and loving mother, Sadie was proud of her family and affectionately known as "Mama Sadie" to her only grand-daughter Linda Pore-Roach and her only great-grandson Darren Pore. She loved any chance to spend time with close friends and family, especially holidays and family get-togethers. An avid Cleveland Cavilers fan, Sadie knew every player by name, jersey and statistic!
Sadie will be remembered for her feisty, yet, endearing sense of humor. She loved to travel and was admired for her fashionable style of dress and hats. Her desire to be a singer as a young girl, was evident in the songs she sang to her family. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Sadie was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Girten; daughter, Pauline Girten-Snead; and granddaughter, Linda Pore-Roach.
Sadie leaves to mourn her great-grandson, Darren Pore of Cleveland, Ohio; his father Darryl Pore of Columbus, Ohio; her nieces Regina Paige-Perry of Cleveland, Ohio and Lynava Buchanan (Lasnie) of Cape Coral, Florida; great-nephews and nieces Robert, LaBron, Jantene, Raicine and Janice; as well as a host of cousins and a myriad of close friends. Sadie had a special relationship with Jackie Spencer and Esther & Willie Jones.
