Ethel Bell Delk was born on July 22, 1928 in Alexandria, Louisiana to Robert and Celeste Lee. She was the youngest of nine children.
Ethel moved to Gary, Indiana in her teens and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1949.
On January 16, 1954 Ethel become one in holy matrimony to Robert Delk, Sr. To this union six children were born: Elaine, Diane, Robbie, Robert Jr., Reginald, and Joseph who preceded her in death.
In Gary, Indiana Ethel worked as a social worker's aide for Norton Elementary, and later worked as a receptionist at The Boys & Girls Club. She loved children so much, she even had her own home daycare.
Ethel's daughter, Diane was the first from the family to move to Cleveland in the early 70's. Per Diane's request, Ethel moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1986 with her daughter, Robbie and her sons Robert Jr., and Joseph.
Ethel worked and retired from The Warrensville Board of Education as a receptionist and was also a lunch aide at Randall wood Middle School.
Ethel knew no stranger. She was a friendly and outgoing woman. She had a joke for everyone and made everyone laugh. Ethel was witty and always knew how to come up with clever sayings.
Ethel will be truly missed!!!
Ethel Bell Delk will be remembered and forever cherished by her loving daughters: Elaine Jacque, Diane L. ( Marlene ) Delk, and Robbie( Rickey) Richardson; sons: Robert Delk Jr., Reginald Delk, and Joseph Delk ( deceased); one special nephew Dr. Jackie Powell; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, relatives, and friends.
