Texana Nixon

Texana affectionately called "Tex" was born on April 12,1933 to the union of Sadie Bohannon and Melvin Grady Sr. She was the seventh child of eight , born in DeKalb, MS.

During her early years while living in Mississippi she was a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist church. Tex graduated from the Whisenton High school in DeKalb, MS.

Later in life she moved to Cleveland , Ohio and on December 4,1978 she met and married the love of her life, John L. Dixon. Tex was gainfully employed doing embroidery. After years of service, she became a Nurse Aide and worked at the City View Nursing Home.

Tex leaves to cherish her memory her husband, John; four step children; Brenda Thomas, Linda Young, Norman Nixon , and Beverly Thomas; four grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; one brother , Melvin Grady,Jr. and a host of nieces ,nephews and other relatives and friends.
