Sondra Jean (Hogges) Montgomery

Sondra Jean (Hogges) Montgomery was born July 31, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the youngest of 3 daughters of Reverend Roscoe Hogges Sr. and Victoria (Watson) Hogges.

Sondra professed her faith in Christ at an early age under the leadership of Rev. C. Bohannan t First Baptist Church in Berea, Ohio. During her young adult years Sondra fellowshipped with St. Paul A.M.E, where Sondra was active in the Steward Board and Lay Ministries.

Sondra attended the Cleveland Public School System and graduated from John Marshall High School class of 1971. Sondra attended Cuyahoga Community College and obtained an Associate Degree in Communications where her skill set was utilized for over 25 years of employment with Firestone. Prior to retirement Sondra was also employed at KeyBank as a Telecommunications Specialist.

Sondra was married to Michael Montgomery and had two (2) daughters, Charise and Camille Montgomery.

Sondra had one son, Michael Hogges, and one brother Roscoe Hogges Jr. and her parents Rev. Roscoe Hogges, and Victoria (Watson) Hogges that all preceded her in death.

Sondra enjoyed family and friends by hosting holiday dinners and in the summer cookouts. Sondra's hobbies included traveling, ceramics, crafts and quilting. Quilting became a passion with Sondra and he friends that met once a week at Emmanuel Baptist Church with the Quilting group known at the Quilting Bees. Sondra was instrumental with the auctioning off a Quilt that hangs in the lobby of St. Paul A.M.E. Sondra was very active with her church and community. Sondra would lend a helping hand in any way she could.

Sondra leaves to cherish her memories, her two daughters, Charise and Camille Montgomery. Two sisters; Verna (Hogges) Davis, and Lavonne (Hogges) Holland, 12 Grandchildren, and 14 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Aunt Amanda Burnett, 2 nieces and 1 nephews. Long time friends Trina Dumas, Carmen Lewis and a host of family and friends.
