Rose Marie Thomas (nee Wheeler) was born September 20, 1945 in Hot Springs, VA to Alberta A and Charles Wheeler. Rose was the oldest of six girls, three of which preceded her in death (Jeane, Patricia, and Lora). Rose moved to Cleveland when she was 3 years old. Rose was baptized in the Southern Baptist Church.
In 1962 Rose met her love Carl (Butch) Thomas. Rose graduated from John Hay High School in 1964. In 1964 Rose and Butch started their family. Rose was married to Butch for 54 years. Rose worked at Forest Manufacturing Company for over 27 years as a Press Operator.
Rose was an avid reader, romance and science fiction being amongst her favorites. If she really enjoyed a particular book she may go back and read it again. She loved collecting cookbooks as well. Rose enjoyed traveling, Vegas being a favorite. She also loved taking long drives going nowhere. Rose would complete books upon books of search puzzles. When the TV was on she delighted in watching old black & white movies and TV shows.
Rose loved spending time with family, especially family get togethers. Being with her sons and grandchildren always made her day. Rose always looked forward to every holiday because she knew she’d be with family. As always Rose would tell her boys how she felt about something, whether they asked or not. Rose was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Rose was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on December 2, 2018 surrounded by family. Those left to mourn Rose are: husband Carl; sons, Anthony, Christopher (Patricia), Orlando and Carlos; sisters, Jeanette and Priscilla; eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, extended family and lifelong friends.
