One April 23, 2019, Lucius Managan went to his eternal home. He was born March 23, 1938 in Hayneville, Alabama to the late Frank and Rosetta Brooks Managan. He confessed his faith in Christ Jesus at an early age at the Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Hayneville, Alabama.
Lucius graduated from The Calhoun Colored School in May 1951. He relocated to Cleveland, Ohio in 1955. He worked for Yellow Cab and Howard Johnson’s Restaurant but spent most of his working career working at Ford Motor Company in Brookpark, Ohio, where he also retired.
In 1965, Lucius met and fell in love with the love of his life, Helen Brown and he married her. He became a step-father to five children; John, Dinah, Nellie, Betty (deceased) and Jack (deceased). HE loved his family and beautiful wife until her death.
He joined Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Warrensville Heights, Ohio in the 80’s. He worked several ministries in the church. He enjoyed worshipping, serving God and doing good for others. He served in the ministry until his sickness would no longer allow him. He loved the Lord! He loved others! He also loved his hobbies; horse racing and bowling.
There were several family members that preceded him in death; his beloved wife, Helen Managan; parents, Frank and Rosetta Managan; grandmother, Sallie Mary Canty; brothers, Jesse George, Frank, Jr., and Wesley; sister, Mary Phipher.
Lucius leaves to cherish his memory; stepmother, Pearlie Managan; two stepdaughters, Dinah and Nellie; stepson, John; four sisters, Mary Managan-Edwards, Mamie Managan, Rhonda Trice and Flora Managan; brother, Joseph; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
