Isaac Henderson Lane was born in DeSoto, Louisiana on August 30, 1918 to Effie and Abe Lane. He was a former Mill Wright at Great Lakes Steel Company for many years. Isaac enjoyed fishing, telling stories, jokes and riddles. He loved teaching others about the Bible. Isaac was a faithful member of Union Second Baptist Church in River Rouge, Michigan for over 70 years. He was very active in the local National Baptist Church Association Incorporated, the School Board of Michigan, the Housing Commission of Michigan, and he was Past President of the NAACP local chapter in Michigan. Isaac was a proud veteran of the Army where he served in World War II.
Isaac was a beloved husband of the late Inez Johnson Lane, loving father of Deborah, Diane, Kenneth, Ronald and Rudolph, a dear grandfather of Rondall, Gabraelle, Michael (deceased), Mark, Kara and Kristen and cherished great grandfather of twelve. His memory will be cherished by all who loved him.
