Edward Lewis was born to the late George and Mary Ella Robinson Lewis on December 18, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio. He spent numerous years as a machine operator at Cleveland Pneumatic Tools where he also retired. He met Ira L. Lewis at Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, where his mother attended faithfully, and on November 1, 1957, they were married.
Edward (“Snack”) loved his family and friends dearly along with his love for sports and music. He would “cut-a-rug” anywhere once he heard a beat, and he was always passionate in fixing or creating things.
He was a life time member of The Nucleus club in Cleveland, Ohio that was originally formed with his closet friends.
He leaves to cherish and celebrate his life: his beloved wife, Ira L. Lewis; four daughters, Theresa L. Mitchell (David), Belinda Brown (Wayne); Iris Bolding (Bobby) and Etta White (Vincent); 7 grandchildren, Arita Terrell, Geneva Hicks, Venetta McDonald, Stephanie Hale, Joshua White, Bobby Bolding, Iryss Bolding; 8 great-grandchildren, Andrew Terrell, Ta’Darriuse Erby, Morgan Erby, Lauren Hicks, Emery Hicks, Ezekiel McDonald, Elisha McDonald, Eden McDonald; his brother, Joe Lewis and a host of other relatives, nieces, nephews and friends. Edward was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Lewis and sisters Geneva Coggins, Edith Jones, Bertha Scott, Lucille McDowell and Roberta Lewis.
