Charles Edward Boyd was born in Memphis, Tennessee on July 18, 1940 to Reverend Roman and Vaselee (Lambert) Boyd. He was the fourth of four children. Nathaniel and Roman Henry Jr. preceded him.
Raymond Boyd [Barbara] of Shaker Heights, Ohio is his remaining brother.
Charles served in the United States Army. Dad thank you for your service to our country. We salute you!
On Charles’ 19th birthday, July 18, 1959 he was united in marriage to Emma (Flonnoy) in Cleveland, Ohio. They were married for 58 years before her death. He was a faithful caregiver during her illness.

Great grandchildren, Donald Jr., Ivy Emma, Assan
Charles was employed by Division of Recreation and Parks City of Cleveland for 35 years before retiring.
Charles enjoyed his life, wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, his host of family and friends. Charles enjoyed life! Whether it was cruising in his Lincoln Continental to play a game of pool or listening to his favorite songstress Nancy Wilson, he enjoyed life!
Charles’ nickname was Lucky Larry and everyone complimented his family that he was sooo handsome! Charles “Lucky Larry” was truly lucky to have his family and friends to love him, and his family and friends were blessed to have him in their lives!
