Cecelia F. Carter

Cecelia Faustena Hooks Carter was born January 29, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri.  She was raised in California by her parents Elizabeth and London Hooks.  She had two brothers, David and Gerald.

Cecelia was educated in the California school system, graduating from Loma Linda Academy in 1947.  She then attended Howard University for 2 years, and was in the first integrated senior class at the University of Louisville, Kentucky.  After college, Cecelia moved to Cleveland, Ohio and married Ernest Carter.  They had one great child, Steven Carter (deceased).

Cecelia loved spending time with her friends, playing cards, traveling and cooking.  

She leaves to mourn her death, one wonderful granddaughter, Dr. Stacey Carter; a terrific niece, Janine Allen; a special she had the privilege to help raise, Betty Minter; and a host of the greatest friends she could ever have.
