Obituary for the Elect Lady B. Elaine Scott
Lady B. Elaine Scott, 86, of Shaker Heights, Ohio transitioned from labor to reward on Monday May 29, 2017. She was born in Mt. Vernon, Ohio on February 4, 1931, the only daughter of Bruce Bass and Helen (Hywarden) Bass. She was educated in the Mt. Vernon public schools where she was very active in the choir as well as the journalism department. She also received vocal training in Mt. Vernon as well, as she had a great love for singing. Growing up, Elaine was a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where she was an active member of the choir.
In her senior year in High School she met Charles Scott and it was "love at first sight". On December 7, 1949 she married Charles Scott, the love of her life. To that union there were 6 children, 3 boys and 3 girls.
Lady Elaine was employed for more than 30 years by the DeBartolo Corporation. She was most recently employed by Dr. Sharon Schmahl of Schmahl Orthodontics as a bookkeeper where she worked until approximately 2 months prior to her transition. In her spare time Lady Elaine enjoyed spending time with the residence of her complex. She also was a foody and greatly enjoyed eating at various restaurants and trying different recipes. She enjoyed traveling with her children and grandchildren as well. Elaine was a counselor, advisor, confidant, and friend to many, sharing her many years of wisdom freely.
She leaves to celebrate her life her children; Charles Bruce Scott, Columbus, Ohio; Karl Adrian Scott (Cynthia), Midland, Texas; Marcia Elaine Harris, Youngstown, Ohio; Lisa K. Scott, Rockwall, Texas; Lori Ann Dumas (Dwight), Youngstown, Ohio, also Charles Ronald Scott Columbus, Ohio and Michael O. Reese Columbus, Ohio. Her grandchildren, Amil (Mony) Scott(Angela), Shawn Scott, Savonne Scott, Heather Sanders (Brian), Karl A. Scott II(Debbie), Tiffany Chavers, Erin Stinger, Dawn Carpenter (Jonathan), Douglass Dumas, Dana Watson (Adrian). A host of great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents Bruce and Helen Bass, her husband Bishop Charles Scott, her son, Gordon Douglas Scott, and her grandson Andrew Aveleno Monteiro III.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 3, 2017 at The Church of the Master 4050 Monticello Blvd. Cleveland, Ohio 44121. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations would be made to the Ames Family Hospice House 30080 Hospice Way Westlake, Ohio.
