Alred Cardwell Calhoun was born in Keystone, West Virginia on November 11, 1929, to Burnice and Rose Calhoun. Alred was a former Educator for the Cleveland Board of Education and was the Basketball Coach for Glenville High School for over 40 years. Alred also was the head of the Mathmatics Department at Glenville High School. Alred enjoyed playing Basketball and Softball when he was a young man. Alred also enjoyed going to Bob Evans for breakfast and spending time with his grandchildren. Alred was a devoted husband to his late wife Claudine Calhoun for 62 years, a beloved father to Teresa Franklin and Valerie Love, a loving grandfather to Craig, Kellie and Tonya, a dear great grandfather of 6 and a cherished brother to Winfred Calhoun. Alred was loved and respected by all who met and knew him.
