Expansion
Expansion occurred into East Cleveland with the acquisition
of a second location in 1972. This move was coincidental to
and consistent with the growth and migration of the Black
population to some of Cleveland's eastern suburbs. As Black
migration continued to the southeastern communities surrounding
Cleveland, William further expanded the business with the
acquisition of a third facility in Warrensville Heights,
Ohio in 1996.
Starting in the 1960's and continuing through the 1980's, William
and Mary were joined in the business by their children, William F.
(Pepper), Marcella B. Cox, and Marina B. Grant along with two
granddaughters, Victoria A. Boyd and Lisa C. Taylor. The
tradition of "Quality, Compassionate, Care" begun by Elmer Boyd and
continued by his son, is still visible in the service renderd by
his third and fourth generation off-spring.
"It is our mission to provide families who are experiencing the
loss of a loved one sympathetic, compassionate and professional
service in the same manner we would want for ourselves."
